home sweet home

i'm back in the US, back to my parents' house, just outside philadelphia. i'm in a mild stupor, walking around with wide eyes and lots of curiosity. there is so much water in the toilet bowl! and the toilet flushes every time! there is a lot that is overwhelming and slightly obscene in many ways. but there are also some things that are wonderful. i went with my parents to the local farmers' market. locally grown, community-supported, organic food? that's yummy. there were also alpacas (think a cross between a big poodle and a small giraffe. a pooraffe if you will.) and and some other animals from animal rescue groups. people who care about animals? now that just warms my heart. it's good to be home.
